Manchester United interest dismissed by Ansu Fati’s father
As reported by Cadena Ser (h/t Metro), the father of Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati has dismissed rumours linking his son with a move to Manchester United.
A product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Fati broke through the Catalans’ first-team in the ongoing campaign. The youngster has since gone on to make quite the impact, bagging six goals and an assist in 26 matches. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The youngster was the subject of two mega-money bids from the Red Devils. According to the report, they were swiftly rejected by Barca.
His father has now come out and revealed that his son is happy in Spain and that he has no knowledge about any interest from United. (h/t Metro)
“I’ve always been happy since my son is at Barca … I know nothing about Manchester United.”
He believes that his son has a bright future at Barcelona before adding that anyone who leaves the club is keen to return. (h/t Metro)
This was the case for former United defender Gerard Pique. The youngster eventually returned to the Nou Camp where he became a household name.
It appears that the presence of Lionel Messi is an underlying factor that can help keep the youngster in Catalonia. (h/t Metro)
“If you are alongside Messi, you have to be delighted and thank God.”
The opportunity to learn from arguable the best player to grace the game is a massive draw for any youngster. More so when you consider Barcelona see him as Messi’s heir.
