Napoli want £44m for Manchester United target Hirving Lozano
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Express), Napoli have quoted £44m for Manchester United target Hirving Lozano.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add the Mexican to bolster his attacking options this summer. However, he will have to contend with competition from Premier League rivals Everton for the attacker.
Apart from being a force on the field, Lozano will also be a commercial goldmine off it. United can cash in on the player’s popularity fo further their marketing interests in Mexico. (h/t Express)
The 24-year-old has a huge following in his home country and United are keen to take advantage of it. The club already has a presence in the Latin American nation following their association with Javier Hernandez. (h/t Express)
Napoli’s record signing, Lozano has failed to do that tag justice in his debut season in Italy. He has scored just three goals and has provided two assists in 28 appearances in what has been a largely forgettable campaign.
Given the unimpressive numbers, his price tag could be considered extravagant. However, Napoli are in no hurry to sell having secured the player until 2024. The Italians are keen to retain him rather than sell him for a cheap this summer. (h/t Express)
Having been purchased by Carlo Ancelotti, Lozano has seen chances harder to come by under Gennaro Gattuso.
His ability, however, is not in doubt, having starred consistently for PSV. Having scored 40 goals and provided 23 assists in just 79 appearances, he was a star for the Dutch club.

Napoli boss Gattuso does not appear to rate the player. He had commented back in February that the Mexican star lacks the qualities he desires. (h/t Express)
Although Ancelotti will look to sign the player for a second time, United will do well to beat him to it.
