Manchester United rekindle interest in Lautaro Martinez
According to Spanish publication Sport (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester United have revived their interest in Inter Milan ace Lautaro Martinez.
The Argentine who has a release clause of £94m, is one of the most in-demand players in world football. United are set to face competition from Catalan giants Barcelona for the scoring sensation. (h/t Daily Mail)
The 22-year-old has stepped up following the departure of Mauro Icardi to plunder 17 goals and five assists in 31 appearances this season.
Although United have the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to call on, we have failed to replace Romelu Lukaku who left for Inter last summer.
Although Odion Ighalo has proved his worth since joining the club, his future is currently in doubt. Shanghai Shenhua expects him to return in July while the Nigerian has given United enough reasons to sign him permanently.
Possessing an infallible scorer is the hallmark of a great team and the title-winning United sides have all possessed at least one such ace. Martinez has far from reached his peak and threatens to be a prolific-scorer in the years to come.
Having him at United will not just ease the burden on Rashford, but also give the club more options.

United have scored 44 goals this season in the Premier League. For a club trying to compete against league leaders Liverpool, that is an abysmal total.
In fact, we have failed to outscore the Merseysiders since the 2014-15 season. Signing a clinical striker could play a major part in closing the gap at the top and Martinez could very well be that answer.
