Speaking to journalist Juliet Bawuah (h/t Mirror), Manchester United striker Odio Ighalo has revealed that teammate Bruno Fernandes is yet to show his best at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese playmaker has hit the ground running at United. He has scored three goals and four assists in nine games and is yet to lose as a United player.

Having also joined the club in January, albeit on a short-term loan, the Nigerian has had an opportunity to work alongside the talented Portuguese for the second time.

Interestingly the duo had played together at Udinese in the 2013-14 season. The duo has since come a long way, making the step up to United. Ighalo was full of praise for his teammate. He called him a well-rounded intelligent player who can both assist and score.

“Once Bruno Fernandes settles down in England you will see what that guy can do. He has vision, he wants the ball always. He can shoot, he can score goals, he is very intelligent”

Ighalo praised Fernandes’ ability to read the situation and react to it. The Portuguese knows what he wants to do and from his showing so far, has been very effective.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation at Old Trafford. His leadership skills too have shone through. Teammate Luke Shaw recently revealed that Fernandes has been a positive influence in the United dressing room.

His performances have seen him be compared to United legend Paul Scholes by manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. The Norwegian played alongside Scholes and surely knows what he is talking about.

Being compared to the Ginger Prince is no mean feat and so far, Fernandes has done justice to the comparison.
