Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes backs Ruben Amorim to take on a Premier League job as Liverpool links start popping up. The Reds have begun the search for Jurgen Klopp’s successor. The German coach announced his departure back in January.

After almost a decade at the helm, Klopp will be departing from Liverpool and he will be taking his staff along with him. Here’s what Bruno Fernandes had to say about his potential successor, Ruben Amorim. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

“If he really takes the next step – I hope he stays at Sporting – but if he takes the next step, I think the qualities are all there to be able to succeed in English, French, or Spanish football,”

Manchester United could also use the help of Ruben Amorim.

Fernandes seems to be a big admirer of Amorim and that can be credited to the Portuguese coach’s success with Sporting CP. Amorim has already won the league once with the Portuguese Giants.

Sporting CP are currently on top of Liga Portugal with a game in their hands. Amorim has started to get his flowers and we could soon see him move to the Premier League. However, even Manchester United could need his services.

Erik ten Hag is currently fighting an uphill battle as he tries to save his job. If he fails to win the FA Cup and make the UCL next season, Sir Jim Ratcliffe might be swift with the axe.

So there could be an opening at Manchester United and Ruben Amorim would fit into the system pretty well. The team’s skipper already admires him so not a lot can go wrong with him fitting in.

However, the Dutchman still has some time and can end up saving his job. If Erik ten Hag finds some consistency Manchester United could make something out of this season.
