Barcelona Legend, Gerard Pique suggests that Erik ten Hag might not be the right fit at Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag has been enduring a disastrous season at the helm of Manchester United this year. A lot of people believe that the Dutchman is not the right man for the job, despite his success during his first year at Old Trafford.
Barcelona Legend and former Red Devil, Gerard Pique suggests that he thinks the same. Let’s have a look at what he had to say about Erik ten Hag while speaking to Sky Sports.
“I still believe Ten Hag is a very good coach. I don’t really know if he will be able to turn things around but the win against Liverpool [in the FA Cup] was incredible.
Can Erik ten Hag turn things around for Manchester United?
While Pique does say Ten Hag is a good coach, he doesn’t have a lot of faith in him to turn things around for United. There is a lot of season still left to be played and the Red Devils will have to perfect till the end if they wish to make a comeback.
However, we have seen the team being inconsistent too many times to have faith in them. But, their wing against Liverpool will serve as a major morale boost for the squad. So, we can expect the team to play their next few games with more tenacity.
All Erik ten Hag needs to do to survive at Manchester United make the top-five in the Premier League and win the FA Cup. Now, winning the FA Cup could be a big challenge considering they’ll either have to face Chelsea or Man City in the finals.
However, a top-five spot is within reach of the Red Devils. The team only needs six more points to catch up to fifth place Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites have also been inconsistent lately so the race of UCL contention is on.
