Marcus Rashford could be open to a move away from Manchester United, on loan, according to The Shields Gazette (h/t The Daily Star). The report claims that the £20,000-a-week England star wants more starts despite being involved in most matchday squads.

The 20-year-old played 35 Premier League games for us last season but only started 17 of them, however, he scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists.

The report also says that the youngster still sees his future at Old Trafford and will only move away if Jose Mourinho says he does not need him in the squad next season.

Newcastle United, Everton and even Leicester City are the clubs interested in signing the 20-year-old on loan for next season.

The problem that Rashford faces is Romelu Lukaku, who is seen as the first-choice striker. Rashford has to battle with the likes of Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial for the other attacking places.

The English youngster is one of the brightest players in the country and this is a problem for us given that we cannot start him in most of the games.

Lukaku and Sanchez are the sure starters while the rest have to fight it out for the remaining spots. Sending him out on loan would not be a bad idea for his development, however, losing a player such as this for an entire season would hurt us.

Injuries could play a part next season, so maybe keeping him, even if he does not start every game is the right way to go.
