Manchester United are willing to pay a world-record fee to bring in French sensation Kylian Mbappe next season. A report from Don Balon (h/t Manchester Evening News) claims that the Old Trafford-based club will spend up to £240m to bring the 19-year-old to the Premier League. However, they might think of including Anthony Martial in the deal and reduce the price to £167m.

While Mbappe played for Paris Saint-Germain on loan from Monaco last season, the Parisian side is willing to let go of the youngster as they face issues related to Financial Fair Play regulations.

Mbappe scored 21 goals for the Ligue 1 side last season and even bagged 11 assists in all competitions as he picked up the Ligue 1 title.

There is an option for PSG to sign the France international for £166m but given that they might not use it, Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Frenchman to United next season.

The French forward would have been concentrating on the World Cup but has suffered an ankle injury. There is no doubt that we can do with a bit more creativity in the final third and Mbappe would be a dream signing for us.

The youngster would add a lot of quality in the final third and his pace and directness will be a threat for most defenders in the league.

It will be interesting to see just how the transfer window goes as the World Cup will have a huge bearing on the prices of players too and if we can sign Mbappe for whatever amount, it will be one of the greatest transfer deals done by us.
