Full Time: Manchester United 2-1 Tottenham

Manchester United made it to a 20th FA Cup final after a tough 2-1 win over Tottenham. It seemed like Tottenham would be going away with the win after Dele Alli scored in the 11th minute.

Things, however, turned around for us as goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera were enough to see us through.

We would be facing the winners of the Chelsea vs Southampton clash and hopefully, we go on to win another trophy under Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 7/10

De Gea couldn’t do much to stop the goal he conceded from Alli and was helpless when Eric Dier fired a shot. However, Spurs didn’t trouble him much despite dominating possession in the second half.

Antonio Valencia – 6/10

Normally, Valencia looks good at the back and is solid in the attack but this game was a little different as he was tormented by Son Heung-min for most of the game.

Chris Smalling – 7/10

It was a surprise seeing Smalling do so well against Harry Kane, given how much criticism the defender has received in recent weeks. Kane barely had a sniff in the game, thanks to Smalling and his partner in defence, Phil Jones.

Phil Jones – 8/10

Possibly his best game of the season, Jones was excellent at the back and even made an important block from Alli when it was 1-0 to Spurs.

Ashley Young – 6/10

Young too did not have a great first-half but did well after playing a role in the goal we conceded.

Ander Herrera – 8/10

Scoring the winning goal in an FA Cup semi-final is a huge achievement and Herrera did really well to give us the winner.

Nemanja Matic – 6.5/10

Matic too was a little slow as Spurs started the brightest in the first half but he slowly got back into the game and did his bit in the midfield.

Paul Pogba – 7/10

Pogba picked out Sanchez for our equaliser and even though he could not dominate the match, the Frenchman did do a decent enough job.

Jesse Lingard – 6/10

Lingard wasn’t up to speed with the rest of the team and even though he played his part in Herrera’s goal, he did waste a few opportunities in front of goal.

Alexis Sanchez – 8.5/10

Sanchez showed just what he is all about in this game as he ran his socks off and even scored an important goal for us. The Chilean grew into the game and had a key role to play in the winner too.

Romelu Lukaku – 6/10

Lukaku didn’t have the greatest of games but it was his poor touch that led to Herrera getting that crucial second goal for us.

Substitutes

Matteo Darmian – 6/10

Darmian was brought on to replace an injured Valencia and did his bit as we held on for the win.

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Rashford was fresh and should have used his pace to get us the third goal when he was one-on-one against Eric Dier but he failed to do much in that situation.

Marouane Fellaini – N/A

The Belgian was brought on in the stoppage time for Alexis Sanchez.
