Gary Neville regrets telling players to join Manchester United

We all know how much Gary Neville loves to give his opinion about Manchester United. Recently while speaking to Sky Sports (h\t The Sun) the former Red Devil had some thoughts about the club.

While talking to Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp, Neville revealed that he had been asking players to join Manchester United. He believes that this was bad on his part as it is ‘poor advice’.

Let’s take a look at what he had to say. (h/t The Sun)

“I have spoken to players before they come here saying you’ll never regret it, it’s a magic football club, looking back that’s pretty poor advice.”

When you think about Gary’s words there is some truth to them. There have been plenty of players recently who must’ve regretted their decision to join the Old Trafford squad.

We had Cristiano Ronaldo who had his contract terminated despite being a club legend. Moreover, we have also had Jadon Sancho who served four and a half months away from the club before being shipped out to Germany.

The Old Trafford management does have a tendency to ruin talent. However, considering that Neville spent his entire career with the Red Devils, criticizing them is just not a good colour for the former right-back.

Instead of smearing Manchester United’s reputation, Neville should maybe turn his focus towards his own club Salford City which is currently in shambles.
