Robbie Mustoe has named Aston Villa coach Unai Emery as the best choice to replace Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United
According to the Express, Former Middlesbrough defender turned football pundit Robbie Mustoe believes that Unai Emery should be the frontrunner to replace Ten Hag if he gets sacked.
Ten Hag’s Manchester United is going through the motions right now. The Red Devils have been off to a horrendous start. They have lost 9 out of the 16 Premier League games that they have appeared in. Moreover, the team also faces the prospect of Champions League elimination this Tuesday.
While there has been no talk of Ten Hag being sacked, history has shown us what the outcome of a failure at Manchester United is. Moreover, The United board is quick to sack managers who fail to live up to their expectations.
Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are two extreme examples of what failure means as a Manchester United Coach. There is no guarantee that Ten Hag won’t be replaced if his campaign fails.
As suggested by Robbie Mustoe, Unai Emery is the perfect candidate to replace Ten Hag at Manchester United. The Spanish national has had a stellar managerial career having won four Europa League titles.
Emery also has experience coaching in the Premier League due to a brief stint with Arsenal back in 2018. Overall, the man is a prime candidate with a decorated career and tons of experience in the major leagues.
Big names like Zinedine Zidane and Graham Potter are also contenders to potentially replace Ten Hag. Regardless of who comes in, there is every chance that a complete overhaul is needed to turn aroudn our fortunes.
