Manchester United have sent scouts to analyze Spanish side Real Sociedad’s duo Martin Zubimendi and Takefusa Kubo. Scouts from United spotted the Sociedad players during their 1-0 victory over Mallorca in La Liga on Saturday.

The Red Devils lost six out of 12 matches so far this season and they’re facing vulnerabilities in multiple positions. United manager Erik ten Hag has faced a shortage in wide attacking position after a public fallout with Jadon Sancho. United’s banished the Englishman from the first-team facility, and there’s potential for his departure during the upcoming transfer windows.

At the same time, Casemiro is facing severe criticism for his sub-par display in the deep midfield. The 31-year-old has not lived up to the level of performance he showed during the start of his United career. The Red Devils’ vulnerability in midfield, allowing the opposition’s attack to easily bypass them, has cost them numerous games. Many fans and football experts believe that the best years of the Brazilian are behind him.

Kubo is a left-footed winger with quick feet and close control to challenge any opponent he faces in a duel. The 22-year-old has the technical ability and creativity to be a real menace on the ball. Furthermore, the Japanese international is well mature in his decision-making and game intelligence to provide a strong attacking outlet.

Zubimendi is a midfielder with abilities that earned him a comparison with Sergio Busquets from Spanish fans and football experts. The 24-year-old plays in a deeper role and likes to dictate the play with his impeccable passing and technical proficiency.

The Spain international reads the game and applies subtly to intercept and dispossess opponents from possession. The Spaniard is strong in both aerial and ground duels even though his best skills are on the ball.

FootballTransfers (h/t Manchester Evening News) reported that Zubimendi can be a successor for Casemiro. Whereas, Kubo is a strong option to replace Sancho and add some much-needed quality to the attack.
