Rasmus Hojlund makes Manchester United admission after summer transfer
Manchester United’s new signing, while speaking to Danish media outlet Tipsbladet (h/t Manchester Evening News) admits that there were a number of clubs interested in signing him but his eyes were always on a move to United.
One of the said that showed concrete interest in Hojlund was Tottenham Hotspur with Daniel Levy keen to replace Harry Kane with the Danish striker.
However, Hojlund, being a boyhood United fan, only had one dream in his mind which was to secure a move to Old Trafford, which finally did lay fruition in the summer transfer window.
“There was a lot of interest, but for me Manchester United has always been the first priority.
The interest and many of these rumours happened early in the period when I made my breakthrough in the national team. Since then there has been a nice dialogue, and then something happens when the window opens, where it really gets going.
I would rather keep it to myself. But an interest arises, and then the clubs start negotiating, and I myself start talking to the club about how the contract should look.”
It is important for the club to sign players who understand the importance of donning the United jersey and are willing to give everything for the batch.
Hojlund would certainly provide that and if he hits the ground running, could end up being United’s front man for years to come.
In his cameo debut performance against Arsenal, he was impressive and allowed United to play in a different manner which was not possible for Erik Ten Hag before.
The previous Ten Hag teams have been known to have a target man, through which the attacking and wider players can play through.
Before Hojlund, he has not had the opportunity to deploy that with both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford having very different profiles.
It would be interesting to see how Hojlund develops in the coming months and whether he would be able to lead the line for United on a regular basis this season.

The first signs of the player have been promising and a huge potential can be seen while the fact that he wanted to play just for United will also get the fans by his side.
