Manchester United have accepted a loan offer from French Ligue 1 club Lorient for midfielder Donny van de Beek
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Manchester United have agreed to a loan deal with Lorient for midfielder Donny van de Beek this summer.
The Dutch maestro is no longer considered a regular player at Old Trafford, and the club is open to offloading him before the transfer window closes.
However, a potential transfer to Real Sociedad has cooled, and it appears that most of the interest in him at this stage of the transfer market is coming in the form of loan offers.

As per Foot Mercato, United have given the green light to a loan proposal from Lorient. However, the Ligue 1 side has not yet reached an agreement with the midfielder regarding his transfer.
It is said that the French club is expected to encounter stiff competition for the 26-year-old player, as Galatasaray have also shown interest in securing his services.
Van de Beek still has two years remaining on his contract with United. He had a highly successful stint at his former club, Ajax, featuring in 175 matches, scoring 41 goals, and providing 34 assists.
However, his time at Old Trafford hasn’t been as fruitful. In 60 appearances across all competitions, he has only managed two goals and two assists.
Last season, he was limited to just 10 appearances due to a serious knee injury, and he has yet to be included in the lineup this season.
Lorient secured a 10th-place finish in Ligue 1 last season and are not participating in European competitions this term.

This lack of European exposure might pose a challenge in persuading the midfielder to join them at Stade du Moustoir. While they have tentatively agreed to a loan deal for Van de Beek, the midfielder has not yet given his approval.
The player would be keeping an eye on his other options as the race to sign him intensifies on deadline day.
In our opinion, it is highly likely that he will depart on loan before the Friday deadline. The chances of a permanent deal look very slim.
Although such a move would have helped Man United achieve financial benefits, they might need to compromise on their plans.
The Dutchman would still be happy to finally get a chance to revive his career at a new club, even if it’s a loan deal. The deadline day will reveal which club Van de Beek prefers to join.
