Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United can still happen with the player pushing for a move

As per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Manchester Evening News), Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is pushing for a move to Manchester United as we enter the final few days of this transfer window.

It is also revealed though while United have been in regular contact with the Serie A club, an official bid is yet to be made.

A few days ago, Italian football correspondent and transfer journalist Gianluca di Marzio reported that Fiorentina are ready to sell the Morocco international if a bid comes. It seems like they are already bracing for life without the midfielder.

Keeping all those things in mind, what are United waiting for? Fred has been sold to free up a place in midfield. Donny van de Beek could be on his way out as well.

Having watched the first three games, it has become very evident that Casemiro is getting left alone in defending opposition counter-attacks many times.

The Brazilian needs support there or else he might get run to the ground before Christmas. Amrabat is a versatile player who can play as a lone six, in a double pivot or as one of the number eights in a three-man midfield setup.

United also have to look at the teams in the market for a midfielder of the profile similar to the Moroccan. Arch-rivals Liverpool are one of the clubs. They have actually been linked with a move for the midfielder as well in the recent past.

As a result, Erik ten Hag should be pushing to make this happen. Cannot allow Liverpool to swoop in and take the player just like they did with the Cody Gakpo transfer seven months ago.
