Justin Bijlow, who plays for Feyenoord, is coy on his future in the ongoing transfer window amidst interest from Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Holland international this summer. Recently, the promising goalkeeper has been one of the options the Old Trafford side have had their eyes on to bolster the squad.

However, speaking to ESPN (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bijlow expressed his commitment to Feyenoord for the time being. But the shot-stopper does have ambitions like any other player to make it to the top.

“We’ll see. But out of respect for Feyenoord, I don’t want to talk about other clubs. At Feyenoord, the feeling is always good. It’s never a punishment to be here, I’ve always said that.

“I want to go for the highest achievable and one day I will definitely take a step. But, at the moment I play at Feyenoord.”

The 25-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at the Rotterdam-based club. Subsequently, in the last few seasons, the promising goalkeeper has established himself as the number one at the Eredivisie outfit.

In the previous campaign, Bijlow was a key player for Feyenoord as they won the league title. Arne Slot brought the best out of most of his players, including the shot-stopper.

Unfortunately, the Holland national’s injury record over the years has not been encouraging. The 25-year-old has spent a lot of time on the sidelines in every campaign at the Eredivisie outfit.

David de Gea was the number one at United in the 2022/23 term. However, the Spaniard has left the club after his contract expired last month. Therefore, we evidently need a new goalkeeper this summer.

To that end, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is the Red Devils’ number one target. However, we could evidently do with a second shot-stopper in our ranks. Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson have been attracting interest this summer. Other options in our ranks are Matej Kovar and Nathan Bishop.

However, for now, Onana is arguably the better option. Therefore, unless we need to add more depth in the goalkeeping department, it would be wise just to keep monitoring Bijlow.
