Torino have placed a €40 million price tag on Perr Schuurs this summer amidst interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), according to Tuttosport via Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Serie A outfit have no intention of parting ways with their defender in the ongoing transfer window. However, if a considerable offer arrives, they will be open to parting ways with him.

As things stand, the 23-year-old has many suitors apart from the Red Devils and the Parisians. Premier League rivals Liverpool and Crystal Palace have the centre-back on their radar. The Holland national is also being eyed by Italian giants Inter Milan.

Schuurs signed for Torino in the summer of 2022 from Ajax Amsterdam. At the Eredivisie outfit, the Holland national developed and grew under Erik ten Hag.

At the Turin-based club, the defender immediately became a key player in the Serie A outfit’s starting lineup last season. The 23-year-old was a key player for them as the Italian outfit managed a top-half finish in the league in the 2022/23 term.

Right now, PSG have the likes of Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe and new signing Milan Skriniar in their ranks. However, they have lost Sergio Ramos this summer.

On the other hand, Ten Hag called upon Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane for the majority of the games in the previous campaign. The Argentine and French national have formed a solid partnership at the Old Trafford side.

The Red Devils also have Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire at their disposal. But the two have lost their influence in the team since the Dutch manager’s arrival. Although the Swedish national did put in encouraging performances towards the end of last season, it would not be a surprise to see some departures from our backline in the coming weeks.

Therefore, if we were to lose depth in the centre-back area, it would be wise to add reinforcements. Schuurs is a young and promising defender who is familiar with Ten Hag’s style of play. But it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will pursue his signature.
