Erik ten Hag wants striker, midfielder and right-back at Manchester United next summer
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster the squad with a striker, midfielder and right-back next summer, according to the Metro.
The gaffer wants to add a world-class forward to the ranks in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has been identified as the top target. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also an alternative option for the Red Devils.
Ten Hag also wants a box-to-box midfielder at his disposal for next season. The Old Trafford side would ideally acquire the services of Frenkie de Jong. But the Holland international is happy at Barcelona.
Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham is another option on the Manchester-based club’s radar. However, other top teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in the England international.
Reinforcements in the number nine position and the engine room are the priority for United. If Ten Hag is handed his wish, the gaffer will then assess the budget in regards to getting a new right-back.
At the moment, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the two options at the former Ajax head coach’s disposal. However, the former Crystal Palace star could be sold in the coming months.
At the moment, the Red Devils have Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst as the only two natural strikers in the squad. The two have been underwhelming this season, with Marcus Rashford the only consistent goal-threat at the Old Trafford side under Ten Hag.
In the midfield, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have done well. However, on the bench, the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek leave a lot to be desired. Marcel Sabitzer had to be brought on loan in January to add depth to the middle of the park.
