Dean Henderson, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest from Manchester United, has two unnamed clubs ‘interested’ in acquiring his services, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News].

The Red Devils have been contacted by the two teams regarding the England international. In the upcoming transfer window, the Old Trafford side are looking at the possibility of parting ways with the shot-stopper.

Henderson made his way through the youth ranks at Man United. After impressing out on loan with Sheffield United, the 26-year-old was given the opportunity to cement his place at the Manchester-based club.

In the 2020/21 season, the England international shared minutes in between the sticks with David de Gea. The two interchanged between European and domestic cup competitions and the Premier League.

However, the Spaniard pipped Henderson in the pecking order in the previous campaign and cemented his place back as the number one. Subsequently, the English national decided to leave the Red Devils last summer.

On his temporary move at Forest, the 26-year-old has put in some impressive displays. He has found regular minutes under Steve Cooper, making 20 appearances in all competitions for the Tricky Trees.

But over the last few weeks, the shot-stopper has been sidelined with an injury. In his absence, January loan signing Keylor Navas has deputised admirably for the West Bridgford-based club.

Erik ten Hag has relied on De Gea this season. The Dutch manager is not blessed with a lot of goalkeeping options in the squad, with Tom Heaton and Jack Butland at his disposal.

While Henderson would seemingly not be keen on being a backup at United, the 26-year-old has showcased the talent to become the future number one at the club. However, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the English national at the Old Trafford side.
