Bayern Munich loanee Marcel Sabitzer coy on Manchester United future
Marcel Sabitzer, who is on loan at Manchester United from Bayern Munich, is coy on what his future holds at the Old Trafford side.
The Austria international is on a temporary move at the Red Devils until the end of the season. However, the club do not have the option to buy the 28-year-old. As a result, the midfielder will return to Germany after the 2022/23 campaign concludes.
Speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Sabitzer is happy at Man United for the time being. But the Austrian is unsure of what will happen in the upcoming transfer window.
“It’s a loan at the moment, that’s all I can say. I like it here, I’m feeling very good here, I like the team, I like the club, the atmosphere in Old Trafford. We will see what happens in the summer.”
The 28-year-old signed for the Bavarians in the summer of 2021 from RB Leipzig. At Die Roten Bullen, the midfielder established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.
However, since Sabitzer’s move to Bayern. He has been unable to showcase his talent on a regular basis. Julian Nagelsmann has preferred other options in the middle of the park at the Allianz Arena side.
As a result, the Austrian struggled for opportunities with the Bavarians. In the current campaign, the 28-year-old started just seven games in the Bundesliga.
Sabitzer has had to quickly settle in at Man United. The 28-year-old has started the last two fixtures for the Red Devils in the absence of various midfielders. He has looked decent in the two matches against Leeds United.
Casemiro was suspended for three games after picking up a red card against Crystal Palace. On the other hand, the likes of Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay have also been on the sidelines.

Before Sabitzer’s arrival, the Red Devils evidently lacked strength in depth. The likes of Fred have been inconsistent during their time at the Old Trafford side. Therefore, it seems wise to sign Sabitzer on a permanent basis if the conditions are right.
