Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane being monitored by Manchester United ahead of summer window
Manchester United are ‘monitoring’ Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Manchester Evening News.
At the moment, the Red Devils are deciding on whom to bring as their long-term striker. The England international’s current contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Victor Osimhen of Napoli is being considered as well by the club. Erik ten Hag also admires Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Ajax youngster Mohammed Kudus.
The Old Trafford side have liked the 29-year-old for some time now. In the summer of 2021, the Spurs striker was looking to join our rivals Manchester City, but a deal did not end up materialising.
United seemingly have a vacancy up front, unlike the Sky Blues, Liverpool and Arsenal. On the other hand, Kane is unlikely to join Tottenham’s London rivals Chelsea. That makes the Red Devils an appealing destination for the 29-year-old in the English top flight.
The England international is also not looking to extend his stay at the North London side. Therefore, Spurs will either have to sell the striker in the coming months or lose him for free next year.
Kane has been one of the best players in the Premier League for some time now. He has carried Spurs’ attack season after season. However, the 29-year-old has nothing to show for it. Trophies have eluded the England international in North London.
Ten Hag currently has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst at his disposal for the number nine position. However, the French national has been injury prone this term and the Holland international is only on loan at the Old Trafford side until the end of the campaign.
