Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is hoping to keep “young guys” like Jude Bellingham at the club amidst interest from Manchester United.

The Bundesliga giants have become a talent factory in recent years. However, the German outfit end up selling their superstars to other big teams around Europe.

Recently, BVB sold Jadon Sancho to the Red Devils in the summer of 2021. While the 22-year-old has had a hard time in England, he shone at the Signal Iduna Park side. Erling Haaland is another name they had to part with in the previous transfer window.

Speaking to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t The Sun], Terzic is looking to change the culture at Dortmund. He feels the Bundesliga giants need to do more to keep a hold of their talent.

“I believe that we need to work on keeping these young guys one year longer.”

Bellingham has attracted interest from various big clubs around Europe. In the Premier League, the Red Devils, along with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, are eyeing the 19-year-old. European giants Real Madrid and French outfit Paris Saint-Germain are also looking to acquire his services.

At the moment, the Merseysiders and Los Blancos are leading the race for the midfielder. However, BVB seems to be desperate to avoid losing another key player.

Bellingham joined the German outfit in the summer of 2020 from Birmingham City. At the Signal Iduna Park side, the youngster has developed into a quality player.

The 19-year-old was a key player for Gareth Southgate in the 2022 World Cup. He started in every game for the Three Lions as they reached the quarter-finals, only to be knocked out by France.

United currently have the duo of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the middle of the park. Erik ten Hag has preferred the duo in the engine room. However, they are both going to turn 31 in February.
