Barcelona and Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot
According to Tribal Football (h/t Manchester Evening News), Barcelona and Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot with the Portuguese’s contract set to expire in the coming summer.
Dalot has been a revelation for Man United this season. He has established himself as a mainstay in the team under Erik ten Hag and is finally showing why the Red Devils have persisted with him for so many years.
Such has been Dalot’s renaissance this campaign, he has managed to keep out the Manchester City star Joao Cancelo from the starting XI in the latter stages of the World Cup for Portugal in Qatar before ultimately losing to Morocco.
All this has prompted interest in the Portuguese full-back with many clubs interested in signing Dalot and Barcelona and Juventus have been tipped as names to sign the talented 23-year-old defender from Manchester.
Dalot’s contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of the current campaign and there is an inclination on the side of either party to extend this association and continue at Old Trafford for many seasons to come.
However, it remains to be seen if the interest coming from clubs like Barcelona tempts the Portuguese with a move away. After all, the Spanish club also need a talented right-back and Dalot perfectly fits the bill.
Right now, Dalot is the undisputed right-back at Old Trafford, especially with Aaron Wan-Bissaka nowhere near the plans of Ten Hag. However, the Red Devils are likely to bring in someone to compete with the Portuguese man.
It remains to be seen what Man United do in January and if they sign another option in that position. If not, Dalot has the golden chance to establish his grip on that position and make it his own for seasons to come.
