SL Benfica youngster Cher Ndour being eyed by Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona
Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in 18-year-old SL Benfica midfielder Cher Ndour, according to The Mirror.
Serie A giants Juventus and La Liga outfit Barcelona are also eyeing a move for the youngster. Thus, the Red Devils will have to fend off interest from the Old Lady and the Blaugrana to secure the Italy U20 international’s signature in January.
The Bianconeri see Ndour as the heir to former United star Paul Pogba. The France international is the 18-year-old’s idol and moved to Turin in the recent transfer window as a free agent after his contract at the Old Trafford side expired.
However, the Red Devils also have an association in their camp. The Italy U20 international shares the same agents as Bruno Fernandes, who would consider a move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Ndour started his youth career at Brescia and later moved to Atalanta. In 20202, he joined the Eagles and has since been impressive for the reserve side.
While the 18-year-old has not made his first-team debut for the Primeira Liga outfit, he became the youngest player to feature for Benfica B. He was also one of the 100 nominees for the recent Golden Boy award.
United have a host of youngsters in their ranks at the moment. The likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga have made an impression with the first team this season.
We also have other young stars who showed glimpses of their talent during pre-season. Zidane Iqbal was among the breakout stars during our friendlies before the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
