United wanted to bolster the middle of the park in the recent transfer window. And the Red Devils did so with the signings of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

The Danish and Brazilian stars have both been impressive in their short time in Manchester up until now. The two 30-year-olds have had an immediate impact on the team.

Eriksen has found his place in the number eight position. The Danish national has taken some fans by surprise with his quality. The Old Trafford crowd did not expect the former Tottenham Hotspur star to be as crucial as he has been this season.

Casemiro, on the other hand, did not have as fast a start to his United career as Eriksen. The Brazilian was kept out of the starting lineup for some time by Scott MvTominay, who was performing well.

However, since his first start against Everton at Goodison Park, the 30-year-old has showcased why he had been one of the best in the world during his time at Real Madrid.

Laimer is a versatile player capable of playing in the defensive midfield as well as the box-to-box role. However, the Old Trafford side have already made quality additions with the likes of Casemiro and Eriksen to the middle of the park.

So, will Ten Hag and United opt to go after another midfielder after the recent investment? Only time will tell. However, there are other areas of the pitch that the Red Devils would be wise to focus on.
