Manchester United have entered the transfer race for AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United are interested in signing AS Roma striker Nicolo Zaniolo.
As the 22-year-old’s future at AS Roma is far from certain, Nicol Zaniolo’s future has been the focus of transfer rumours all season.
Although Juventus remain highly interested in him, Zaniolo is attracting interest from outside Italy. It is believed that Manchester United have entered the race to sign the talented Roma man.
Since United’s strikers failed to live up to expectations last season, the team has struggled in the Premier League, is currently in sixth place in the standings, and faces the possibility of missing out on playing in the Champions League next season.
To add a goalscorer to the team and boost their fortunes, Cristiano Ronaldo was re-signed from Juventus last summer. However, the Red Devils have seen a decline in the club legend’s performances since the start of the new year. Now with the Portuguese star’s future in doubt, the Red Devils may have to make some crucial transfer decisions.
If we really want to recruit the Roma playmaker, Massimiliano Allegri’s team seems to be a major obstacle for us. The Serie A team would promise to compete for titles on all fronts while not requiring the Italian midfielder to travel abroad to a new nation.
Zaniolo may be a useful addition to the squad given that Ten Hag is short of attacking options at United right now. It will be interesting to see how the transfer race plays out in the weeks to come.
The Old Trafford team is in a terrible state right now, so adding a versatile player like Zaniolo could help us with some of our immediate problems. But for that, we’ll need to compete with Juventus for his signature and rely on Mourinho’s judgement.
