Cristiano Ronaldo won’t travel with Manchester United for pre-season tour

According to ESPN, Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be travelling to Thailand with the Manchester United team on Friday for the start of their preseason tour.

The Portugal international was supposed to return to preseason practice with the Red Devils on Monday, but he has been away from Carrington this week owing to family reasons. Additionally, he was also absent on Thursday, making his inclusion in the team for the club’s preseason matches highly debatable.

Now it is believed that the 37-year-old could miss the entirety of the Red Devils’ tour, which includes three games in Australia and a trip to Thailand as he will not be travelling with the club.

The 20-time English champions will then travel back to Europe to finish off their preseason training before facing Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid at the month’s conclusion.

Due to the club’s inability to earn a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season, Ronaldo is rumoured to have wanted to leave Man United this summer.

Even Manchester United seem to have accepted the fact that Ronaldo could leave Man United this summer, and Chelsea are thought to be leading the pack in the race to get him. That would certainly be a blow for us.

Although there has recently been a lot of chatter about the Blues’ interest in the Portuguese superstar, Erik ten Hag’s team is unlikely to let the 37-year-old join a Premier League opponent.

We will be in serious need of bringing in a new striker in the coming weeks if Ronaldo is permitted to follow Edinson Cavani out the exit door. Therefore, it makes sense that the Mancunians would wish to hold onto the talisman during this transfer window.

Additionally, the fact that we still need to reinforce the midfield and defence puts us in a tough position. The last thing we need right now is for things to get worse, and losing Ronaldo would have only made that happen.

The English club would be smart to provide the 37-year-old with some assurances that they will be in better shape for the forthcoming season; that would be excellent for us. Thankfully, it seems that it is in the works; Ten Hag is expected to speak with the forward to discuss the problem.

The former Real Madrid player is mostly worried about the summer’s lack of movement in the transfer market. His worries are entirely legitimate because the supporters also feel the same way and it seems United have to sign some quality players to bring balance to the current environment.
