Another Bayern Munich chief reiterates transfer stance on Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo
Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has firmly reiterated their stance once again regarding links suggesting a potential transfer for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. The superstar’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air after he expressed his desire to leave this summer.
Ronaldo’s intention to leave is down to the lack of Champions League football, a 25 per cent reduction in his salaries and Man United’s lack of significant progress in this transfer window. Bayern Munchen have been touted to be one of the potential destinations for him after his agent Jorge Mendes held talks with them.
Speaking in an interview with Kicker (h/t Manchester Evening News), Kahn has denied that they are interested in signing Cristiano this summer. Bayern’s chief added that the talisman is not suitable for their style of play which has prompted them to take this decision.
“As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest, a transfer would not fit into our philosophy.”

Could Ronaldo stay at Man Utd?
The Manchester club’s hopes of keeping hold of the Portuguese international would have been boosted by this latest admission. In fact, it also aligns with what Hasan Salihamidzic, another member of the Bavarians, told Sky Sports over claims linking them to Ronaldo.
That is unlikely to change even with Robert Lewandowski’s probable exit ahead of the next season. However, the Red Devils still would have to deal with Chelsea as they have also been linked with a move for Ronaldo with Romelu Lukaku returning to Inter Milan on a loan transfer.
In such a situation, we must do our best to turn things around at the earliest as having this uncertainty certainly does not help with the squad morale. That is especially the case when we are starting over a fresh chapter under Erik ten Hag’s tenure moving forward.

With Edinson Cavani leaving the club, we would have no other natural centre-forward options if Ronaldo departs ahead of the upcoming campaign. Hence, the management and ten Hag must do their absolute best to convince the former Real Madrid man to stay with us.
We have other areas in the squad that must be bolstered, and adding a striker to it is not wise in our current delicate situation. In any case, Ronaldo does have one year left in his current contract with an option to renew the deal by another season.

Even so, it is not good to keep hold of the 37-year-old if his mind is not with us as of now. Hence, the fans are hoping to see a solution to this issue as soon as possible so our efforts can be focused on improving our team ahead of the difficult campaign up ahead.
