Italian Juventus make a contract offer to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba
According to Italian football journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter (h/t Express), Juventus have offered Manchester United star Paul Pogba a contract to join them at the end of the season, sealing a return to Serie A for the player.
The Frenchman had earlier moved to Juventus from the Red Devils in 2012 on a Bosman transfer, and with the midfielder out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season, history could repeat itself.
Galetti provided an update from last month on Juventus’ interest in their former star, saying that a return to Turin for Pogba may not be that far down the road, which will concern Man United fans who would have loved to see more of their academy product.
Man United and Juve seem to be involved in a merry-go-round of transfers involving Pogba, with the France international being traded between the two clubs multiple times in the past. After his blockbuster move back to the Red Devils in 2016, the midfielder seems to be setting out for Italy once again.
Contract offered to Pogba
Since the World Cup winner is into the final few months of his contract at Old Trafford, he is free to speak to foreign clubs regarding a potential move and is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with them. So far, neither the Manchester club nor Pogba have provided any updates on his contract situation.
Galetti has said that the Bianconeri have offered Pogba a deal worth €9m, with additional bonuses that could be set around €3m. The journalist also said that the variables on the contract are being discussed between Juve and the Frenchman.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed mediocre success at Old Trafford in his two spells at the club, winning the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League. The only available trophy at this stage of the competition is the Champions League, but given the team’s current form, there would not be too many hopes about that triumph.
In comparison, the player was able to add 4 league titles and a few cup competition triumphs to his trophy cabinet while in Turin, turning out to be a crucial part of an incredibly successful Juventus team. Given this, Pogba’s return to United was thought to be a great move by the club to add a serial winner to their squad and compete for titles once again.

However, his second spell at the Theatre of Dreams has been a mixed bag, with Pogba’s performances for the side only shining through in certain games. It is fair to say that Man United have seen very little of the Frenchman in his pomp.
Now that Juventus have made their intentions clear and submitted a contract offer to the player, fans will hope that Man United will act quickly and push for a u-turn in his contract situation to break Juve’s hearts and keep him at Old Trafford for a few more years.
