Manchester United star Mason Greenwood growing frustrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s growing influence at the club
According to El Nacional (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood is unimpressed with the influence Cristiano Ronaldo has had at the club since his return in the summer.
The 36-year-old returned to the Theatre of Dreams in a transfer that was much publicized. He has since hit the ground running and is the club’s top scorer this season. His strikes have helped the side out of numerous right spots.
Given his performances, it is no surprise that the Portuguese superstar starts games when available. But then, not every player is happy with the development.
Mason Greenwood for one is growing frustrated with the 36-year-old’s influence at the club. One of the brightest young stars at Old Trafford, Ronaldo’s return has eaten into his minutes on the pitch.
The 20-year-old has made 17 appearances, this season scoring five goals and assisting twice. He has played 1182 minutes across all competitions. Ronaldo has played just two games more but totals an incredible 1490 minutes on the field.
To add fuel to fire, Greenwood is also far from impressed with Ronaldo’s influence in the dressing room. As one of the greatest players ever, the Man United star will definitely have clout but it appears to have rubbed Greenwood off the wrong way.
Worryingly, there appears to be the speculation that Greenwood could consider his future at the club should this continue. One of the finest young talents to come out of the academy in recent years, the 20-year-old has time and again reminded us of his immense potential.
Losing a player of his ability would be a very poor move by the club. The last thing the Red Devils need to do is choose one of the two players.

It appears to be a clash between the past and the present at Old Trafford. While Ronaldo’s pedigree is unquestionable, his advanced age makes him an unreliable long term option. Greenwood on the other hand is a budding n superstar in the making.
Already a regular at 20, he will definitely climb greater heights in his career. However, whether that will be at Man United remains to be seen.
