Some Manchester United fans react as Premier League clash against Brighton is postponed thanks to Covid-19
The Premier League took to their official Twitter handle to confirm that the game between Manchester United and Brighton to be held this Saturday has been postponed.
Ralf Rangnick’s side was supposed to take on Graham Potter’s tricky Seagulls this weekend. A win would have seen the Red Devils keep pace with the teams ahead of them in the race for a top-four finish.
As things stand, there is no clarity as to when the rescheduled game will be held. The club too released an official statement confirming the same and reiterated that players’ and staff’s safety is the top priority.
Given the number of players and staff under isolation thanks to COVID-19, the club had no choice but to request the match be rearranged. Following a consultation from medical experts, the decision was finally taken to postpone the fixture.
Man United have also decided to close down Carrington in order to reduce the risk of transmission. Hopefully, the new wave will die down soon and not impact people across the world adversely.
Whether this will now see games once again be played behind closed doors remains to be seen. We now take a look at how some fans reacted to the news on Twitter.

Feels like as a country we’ve become so obsessed with avoiding death we will never remember how to live again 🙁
Raging. Was travelling from Belfast. My boy who is fanatical was his first game at the Theatre. Gutted.

Can we get a clearer picture of the situation like how many first teamers actually have it, and how did it get so bad

Should just cancel all games until the new year. Every other country has Xmas breaks, but we just cram as many games into these 2/3 weeks as we can. These Covid cases are only going to get worse.
