Mino Raiola rules out a Germany move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba
According to Sport1 (h/t Sport Witness), Mino Raiola suggested that no team in Germany could afford Manchester United player Paul Pogba.
Paul Pogba’s Manchester United career has suffered many ups and downs. However, the French superstar has given some quality performances for the Red Devils. In 219 appearances for the Manchester-based team, Pogba has scored 38 goals and provided 49 assists.
Pogba is known to be one of the best midfielders in the world. However, it seems Manchester United hasn’t taken full advantage of his qualities. The 28-year-old midfielder had a love-hate relationship with the Red Devils hierarchy and has been long linked with a move away from Old Trafford. With his current contract term ending the following summer, the world cup winner would be tempted to leave the club.
Many elite European clubs have been linked with Pogba in recent times. However, his agent Mino Raiola has ruled out the possibility of playing for any German club. The Italian super-agent also hinted that German traditions make it harder to get a lucrative deal for his agent.
“That is not possible because the German mentality is different. They cannot and do not want to pay these high salaries.”
Raiola even suggested that the only German club with the power and financial backing to land big-money superstars wouldn’t be able to afford the wages of the former Juventus player.
“The only German club that could do that is Bayern Munich. But even they can’t get to Paul’s salary. Germans are at the bottom of the international salary pyramid.”
Paul Pogba is undoubtedly one of the most creative midfielders in modern football. He has proved his excellency in some of the highest stages of football at the international level. The UEFA Euros didn’t go as planned for France; however, Pogba flourished under challenging conditions.
At this moment, giving away Pogba to a rival team would be a massive mistake for the Red Devils. The inclusion of Ralf Rangnick could change things up. However, it’s the board’s responsibility to offer him a better sporting project and an important role.
