Manchester United ready to complete move for FC Dallas ace Ricardo Pepi ahead of Liverpool
According to II Resto del Carlino (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United could seal a deal for FC Dallas star Ricardo Pepi ahead of rivals Liverpool.
The Red Devils added heavily to the frontline in the summer by getting in Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. The duo were added to a squad that already had Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, and Marcus Rashford.
However, Lingard could depart Old Trafford in January amidst interest from West Ham and Newcastle United. Edinson Cavani might also be on his way out once his contract expires next summer.
Thus, we may be due some reinforcements in the attacking department, and United could now be on the verge of sealing a deal ahead of rivals Liverpool. It is thought that Ricardo Pepi has been on the radar of several clubs, including the Premier League duo.
The American international has been incredible for Dallas in the last couple of years, having contributed to 20 goals in 59 appearances during his time there. At 18, he could still develop into a world-class talent and a potent forward.
Cristiano Ronaldo shall turn 37 next year, and despite his incredible fitness levels, he is bound to hang his boots at some point in time. Greenwood is starting to develop into more of a wide forward, and thus, Pepi could prove to be a vital signing, given his ability to feature centrally.

In fact, United are said to be in pole position to land his signature, with the forward thought to be commanding a fee in the region of £9million– similar to the amount paid by Bayern Munich to sign Alphonso Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.
Hence, with the Red Devils thought to be ahead of the competition, a deal should be completed once the hierarchy is convinced of the player and cough up the required transfer fee.
