Team News: Dean Henderson returns to training for Manchester United

According to news from United In Focus, Dean Henderson has returned to training for Manchester United. The shot-stopper was pictured doing individual training ahead of the Wolves game but might not feature in that.

Dean Henderson has had a torrid summer. He had to unluckily drop out of the England squad for the Euros in the last minute with a hip injury he had been managing since April. It was expected that the period of rest would allow him to recuperate well for the coming season. However, that has not been the case.

His injury is over but he tested positive for COVID ahead of the preseason and had to miss the whole of it. Despite a negative test, his return was delayed due to the after-effects he was suffering from COVID. That led to him missing the opening games of the season against Leeds and Southampton.

So far, David De Gea has been keeping in his stead. Nonetheless, Henderson might be returning to the fold sooner rather than later. He was seen going through the paces in training. However, it was a solo training session and he has not linked up with the rest of the side. The Wolves game comes too soon perhaps for him to make it to the bench.

Henderson will have some more time with the international break for two weeks. The bigger task would be to win back his place from De Gea who has done rather well in the two games so far. Perhaps he will have to wait for the cup games to start before he can feature again.
