Manchester United could sign Harry Kane after player rejects bumper contract
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t The Sun], Manchester United could make a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane next summer.
The 28-year-old, who was linked with a move to the blue half of Manchester this summer, failed to join the club after a difference in valuation between the two clubs.
However, it is to be believed that while the player was hoping to join Man City earlier this summer, he was offered a bumper contract by Tottenham to stay at the club, which Kane, in turn, rejected.
However, given that he failed a move to City, who were also planning on signing United legend Cristiano Ronaldo instead, Kane could move to the red half of Manchester next summer.
The Red Devils are said to be interested in procuring the services of a forward next summer as Edinson Cavani’s current contract at the club will expire next year.
Kane has spent more than a decade in North London and has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League during that period. Last season, the Englishman won the Golden Boot and the Playmaker of the Year awards as he scored 23 goals and provided 14 assists in 35 league appearances.

He is not the only striker on the radar of the Old Trafford outfit as they are also keen on the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, with the latter having played with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde nearly half a decade ago.
However, with the club now confirming that they have signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus, only time will tell if it affects any future plans that they may have had for Kane.
Thus, while United could make a move for the Englishman next summer, it remains to be seen whether they will translate their interest into a formalized offer for the player.
