Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Amad Diallo will leave Manchester United on loan
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that youngster Amad Diallo will leave the club on loan this summer.
The Ivory Coast wonderkid joined the Red Devils in January and has since made his first-team bow, even scoring a goal in the process. However with Jesse Lingard, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo all at the club, Diallo could struggle for games this season.
A prodigious talent, spending time with the Under-23 side could see him take a step back in his development. He is better off gaining regular playtime elsewhere and United appear keen to do just that.
Solskjaer has now confirmed that a loan deal for Diallo is in principle done. While the agreement is yet to be inked, a move appears to have been agreed on.
“Yes I do [expect him to go out on loan]. It’s not 100 per cent signed but we’ve agreed.”
The Norwegian went on to add that a decision on which club Amad will join has already been made. The player, for his part, is excited at the development and will look to further his career in the 2020/21 campaign.
“I don’t have to say which team it is yet [smiles], but we’ve found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.”
Amad will join a number of United stars who have left the club on loan this season. With three key first-team players brought in this summer, Solskjaer is spoilt for choice.
United have a number of promising youngsters coming through the system. The opportunity to let them go elsewhere in search of regular game time is something that should be explored to its fullest. Thankfully we appear to be doing just that.
