Transfer News: Manchester United out of race for Saul Niguez

According to transfer news from Stretty News, Manchester United are out of the race to sign Saul Niguez. There were contradicting scenarios around Saul but it seems certain that the Atletico Madrid midfielder will not be heading to Old Trafford.

It has been a busy window for Manchester United. First, they got Tom Heaton, then the saga for Jadon Sancho ended. A rather surprisingly rapid deal for Raphael Varane was agreed while the icing was added yesterday when United announced that a certain Cristiano Ronaldo would be returning to the club.

Saul Niguez is also the subject of transfer interest from Liverpool and Barcelona.

Links to Saul have been there through most of the summer as he is understood to be unsettled at the club after falling down the pecking order. The addition of Rodrigo De Paul did little to alleviate any of those concerns. There were even suggestions earlier in the summer that he could head to Barcelona in a swap deal.

Those moves did not work out and it is understood that Manchester United are out of the race as well. Any move to United has been labelled as very unlikely at this point. United might still go for further signings depending on sales but it will probably not be Saul that comes in.

United do still need a new midfielder but the arrival of one looks a difficult possibility at this point. Four signings are already in and there might not be room for another if existing players are not sold. Add to that, time running out and one can say that could be all the business they do.
