Paul Pogba makes U-turn on his Manchester United future

According to Daily Star, Paul Pogba has made a U-turn on his Manchester United future. The enigmatic Frenchman apparently sees his future at United even though there is a lot of interest in his services. He loves playing at United and the relationship with Solskjaer coupled with United’s business this season has played a part in this decision.

This is not the headache Manchester United or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have wanted with Paul Pogba. He was one of United’s standout players last season and impressed with France in the Euros as well. The problem is that he is in the last year of his current deal at the club and there’s not been much of an indication that he will renew it.

Pogba will be free to talk to foreign clubs over a free transfer from January 2022. That means United are severely low on their options and selling him in this transfer window is one of them. The other option would be to keep him for the remainder of this season and hope that a new deal can be agreed upon.

However, Pogba’s decision should give Manchester United some hope amidst interest from PSG. The midfielder is said to love playing at United and sees his future at the Theatre of Dreams. This is due to the camaraderie he has with Solskjaer and United’s project for the coming season. He is open to staying back but will take his time to assess the situation.

The ball is in Pogba’s court and United have very little leeway here. Pogba views this next contract as the last big one of his career and wants to let the whole thing simmer. An extension is not out of the discussion but it will likely be later in the season.
