First Interview: Jadon Sancho wants to win trophies at Manchester United
Jadon Sancho outlined his ambition to win trophies at Manchester United in his first interview for Manchester United (h/t Independent). The former Dortmund winger felt honoured to join United and wants to help the club win some silverware.
It was by no means easy to watch Unitedβs pursuit of Sancho right from last year. From the off, it was clear that a deal would not take place and hence, it came down to this summer. There was more confidence and optimism this time.
A deal was agreed, medical was done, formalities were completed and only then did United let out the announcement. Social media has gone into a frenzy as fans were finally delighted at the much-awaited announcement. Sancho will be handed the No. 25 shirt for this season.
Sancho also gave his first interview in which he outlined some key points.
βItβs an honour. Growing up, Manchester United was one of the biggest clubs that everyone knows, and of course there is also all the trophies theyβve won. Thatβs one of the reasons why I came to Manchester, because I can see the development thatβs going on here and I want to be a part of it, especially because itβs such an iconic club and being part of it is kind of a dream come true.β
He added that his experience in Germany will help him win trophies for United.
βIt helped me grow as a player and I had the experience of playing in the Champions League and getting the feel of big games. I feel like I did well in those big games and now Iβm ready for a new challenge and a bigger step. (Iβm) eager to win and determined to get trophies. Goals and assists and a bit of skills here and there. I canβt wait to get started and obviously want to bring trophies to where they belong.β
