Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs enters formal pleas in court

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United icon, Ryan Giggs has entered his formal pleas in court. The Welshman is going through a trial at Manchester Crown Court for allegedly assaulting and coercively controlling his ex-girlfriend.

The 47-year-old is being accused of assaulting Kate Greville. He allegedly caused her actual bodily harm at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, in November last year. The Welshman is also said to have engaged in controlling and coercive behaviour towards her between December 2017 and November 2020.

He is accused of resorting to antics such as violence, isolation, belittling, humiliation, harassment, degradation and abuse. Giggs is also charged with the common assault of Ms Greville’s youngster sister, Emma Greville last November. He remains on conditional bail and is not allowed to get in touch with either woman.

Giggs was relieved of his duties as Wales manager after the incident came to light. (h/t Daily Mail). The trial is still set aside until January 24th 2022.
