Transfer News: Manchester United facing problems over Kieran Trippier
According to transfer news from The Sun, Manchester United are facing problems over the signing of Kieran Trippier. Atletico Madrid are standing firm on their decision to not sell the right-back and want to extend his stay. United will have to offer more for him and the England star will also have to push for a move.
It is no secret that Manchester United could do with some added competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Red Devils saw last season as to how Alex Telles’ arrival boosted Luke Shaw’s performances. While Wan-Bissaka isn’t playing badly, he does need cover and competition.
Trippier is a proven performer at the club and international level as well. He was a part of the Atletico side that won La Liga last season. Trippier also featured in five games for England in the recently concluded Euros and provided the assist for Shaw’s goal in the final.
The 30-year-old wants a return to English shores after a two-year Spanish sojourn. Trippier does have another year left on his current deal with an option of an additional year. Manchester United are trying to get him but Atleti don’t want to sell . United will now have to offer more money and Trippier will have to push for a move on the other end. (h/t Mirror)

Trippier is a player that United can use as he can offer something wildly different to Wan-Bissaka. Yes, they might have to pay more for him as it seems but it could be worth it. As mentioned, United could also do with some help from Trippier’s end. Quite how the club go about this, will be interesting to see.
