Alan Shearer full of praise for Manchester United star Luke Shaw
According to BBC (h/t The Express), England legend Alan Shearer has reserved special praise for Manchester United and Three Lions star Luke Shaw.
The left-back has seen his profile improve under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has not just established himself as a first XI player at United but also has made the left-back position his own for England. The fact that he can keep out the likes of Ben Chilwell speaks volumes about his ability.
Shaw has started in all but one game for England at the Euros. The Three Lions are yet to concede a goal and has also contributed to the other end. In fact, Shaw’s three assists put him only behind David Beckham as England’s top assist-getter in the competition.
Shearer believes Shaw and Raheem Sterling have formed an excellent understanding on the left-wing. This relationship has so far aided the Three Lions massively in their run to the semifinals.
“It’s a phenomenal relationship, that relationship that they have with each other.”
With Marcus Rashford also in the squad, there is every chance that the Red Devils duo can replicate their partnership on the international stage as well. Either way, Shaw has shown he is capable of mixing with the best and can only get better with age.
“Sterling doesn’t have to look, he knows Shaw will be on his bike. Shaw is having an incredible tournament, as is Raheem Sterling.”
Shaw was voted United players’ player of the year last season. Seven years on since joining United, he is looking more like a Red Devils star. A player of immense potential, he appears to be coming into his own as a top-level player.
