As reported by The Daily Mail, Manchester United will have to make do without Luke Shaw, who will be absent for a ‘few months’. The 28-year-old seems to have picked up a muscular injury during the game against Luton Town.

His health has been a concern for Erik ten Hag, who substituted him before halftime against Aston Villa and the Hatters.

The Dutchman will have a tough time adjusting to this loss, as the Dutchman was already dealing with a depleted roster before Luke Shaw’s injury. Amongst his injured players are Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial.

While Malacia and Mount are expected to return over the coming weeks, both Martinez and Luke Shaw will be out for an extended period. These absences spell trouble for the Manchester United defence.

The Dutchman has already struggled with his defence this season. Now that he is missing two of his best defenders, things will get even worse. Moreover, losing 28-year-old Shaw isn’t just a blow to the defensive line but one to the offensive line as well.

The main goal for the team at this point will be to keep all of their players healthy this season. The Red Devils are off to a great start during the second half of the season, but it could all go to waste if Ten Hag loses more of his players.
