Man United allocate £25million in their budget for this talented French wonderkid

Manchester United face competition from Paris Saint-Germain in their efforts to sign Eduardo Camavinga or keep hold of Paul Pogba this summer.

Manchester United assign £25million in transfer funds for Eduardo Camavinga

According to The Express, Manchester United are willing to spend £25million for French wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga this summer.

It however falls spectacularly short of the £100m that Rennes are seeking for their star wonderkid. The Ligue 1 side’s hand could however be forced given that Camavinga has just a year to go on his current contract.

The 18-year-old is one of the best young footballers in world football. Already a regular for Rennes, he has made 82 appearances, scoring twice and assisting five more for the Ligue 1 side. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Camavinga is one of the best young talents in Europe

According to the report, United are set to meet with Camavinga’s camp this week. However, they will face competition from French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who are keen to land him. Already a full international for France, the youngster will be a solid long-term investment in midfield.

Camavinga’s current deal at Rennes expires next summer. The Ligue 1 side are prepared to listen to offers for the player and are wary of losing him for free in a year’s time. Having missed out on Jude Bellingham last summer, United have identified Camavinga as a better alternative. The Red Devils believe Camavinga is a much better talent and could add him to their ranks this summer.

Will Eduardo Camavinga move to United as things stand?

Camavinga’s agent, Josh Barnett, admitted earlier this year that the Frenchman could play in England next season. Whether that will be at United remains to be seen.

Securing Camavinga would be nothing short of a coup. Despite the talented players coming through at United, the Frenchman is a cut above the rest and despite his age, he looks ready to play in the first-team. Just how far Rennes are willing to compromise on their asking price remains to be seen.
