Manchester United given a new boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho

According to The Express, Manchester United have been handed yet another advantage in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho in the upcoming summer transfer window.

While the Germans appear to be ready to sell him, they will be keen to do so early in the window. This is because Dortmund need to sell players before they can reinvest the money into their squad.

With Eden Teriz set to begin his first season at the Westfalenstadion, the summer could be pivotal with his ideas for the club. However, it appears as if that hinges on the money that will come in from player sales.

With Erling Haaland set to stay on for another season, Sancho is Dortmund’s best asset on the market this summer. The 21-year-old will be permitted to leave if an offer of £80m is made.

United are long-term admirers of the English winger. He remains the club’s top priority and has already agreed on personal terms with the Red Devils.

United are however yet to table an official bid. With Dortmund seeking to accelerate the transfer, the onus is now on us to make our move. Whether we will seize the initiative remains to be seen.

Dortmund have already identified a replacement for Sancho in Donyell Malen of PSV Eindhoven. The Germans are also keen to land FSV Mainz’s Jeremiah St Juste.

However, a move for either player will only be made possible if Sancho is sold. The ball is now firmly in United’s court.
