Manchester United star Luke Shaw remains optimistic ahead of the Europa League final
According to the club’s official site, Luke Shaw has admitted that confidence and belief are high in the Manchester United squad ahead of the Europa League final against Villarreal.
The Red Devils will face off against the Spaniards later tonight in the showpiece event in Gdansk. Given the season he has had, Shaw will be one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Shaw did not play in the 2016 FA Cup final and missed the 2017 Europa League final due to injury. Now that he has the opportunity to start a major final, he will look to come out of it a winner.
“This season, especially now there’s, personally in my opinion, much more confidence and belief in the squad that we’re improving as a team.”
Shaw believes that winning silverware is the next step forward for the United team. The Red Devils have shown much promise this season and are keen to see their progress continue.
“There’s a lot of confidence and belief that we’re taking the right steps and this is another step in the right direction.”
The Manchester United Players’ Player of the Year for 2020/21, Shaw has been instrumental in the way our season has progressed. Having come close to no avail in recent years, he is keen to go all the way this time around.
Here by merit!
Shaw has no doubts that United deserve to be in the final. Now that they are there, he is keen to do what it takes to ensure they come home with the trophy.
Having played in front of the fans against Fulham in our last home game, United will have around 2000 supporters to cheer them on at Gdansk. Shaw believes the support from the stands could push the side to ensure they come out on top.
