Manchester United fans attacked outside Gdansk bar ahead of Europa League final

According to The Guardian, Manchester United fans have been attacked outside a bar in Gdansk in the lead-up to tonight’s Europa League final.

Videos uploaded on social media shows a group, dressed in dark clothes, chanting and running from a bar in the city, leaving tables and chairs overturned in their wake.

Three supporters have suffered injuries and are currently being assisted by the club. The attack was carried out by supporters of the Polish side Lechia Gdansk.

As things stand, there is no indication as to what provoked the attack. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured and matters appear to have calmed down.

It does however cast a poor shadow on what could be a memorable night for supporters. Hopefully, there will be no further tensions heading into the game tonight.

Both United and Villarreal supporters appear to be getting along well, with there being no animosity between them to sour celebrations. Hopefully, both sets of fans will go on to put up a show that displays the best of European football tonight.

We hope the local security forces too step up and ensure the safety of all sets of supporters and staff.
