Boost for Manchester United as Dortmund prepare for Jadon Sancho exit

According to German publication Bild (h/t The Daily Mail), Manchester United have been handed a massive boost in their efforts to land Jadon Sancho.

The 21-year-old is coming off the back of an excellent end to the season. Sancho led from the front as Borussia Dortmund not only finished top four but also won the DFB Pokal against RB Leipzig.

United have been long-term admirers of the English international. We fell short of signing him last summer but it has done little to diminish our interest in him a year on.

Dortmund wanted at least £100million for Sancho last summer but will accept £75m for him this time around. The Germans are ready to offload Sancho instead of Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland.

The Bundesliga giants have already lined up a replacement for 21-year-old Sancho. Lille ace Jonathan Ikone is the man touted to replace the English international at the Westfalenstadion.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a major player in the Bundesliga and is ready to return to England this summer.

Sancho has scored 16 goals and created 21 assists in 38 matches in all competitions this season. His form has picked up after a slow start and he looks to be back at his best. He was named in the provisional England squad for this summer’s Euros.
