Liverpool and Manchester United to battle it out for Kamaldeen Sulemana
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United will have to contend with competition from arch-rivals to sign Ghanian wonderkid Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The 19-year-old has been garnering much interest thanks to his excellent performances for Danish side Norsjaelland. He has made 27 appearances for them this season scoring ten goals and assisting six more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Sulemana’s performances have not gone unnoticed in his home nation. He made his senior bow for Ghana last October and has so far won two caps. (h/t Transfermarkt)
United scout Tommy Nielsen was in attendance as Norsjaelland drew against Copenhagen earlier this week. Sulemana scored on the night and appears to have convinced the Red Devils to make a move.
Valued at £12million, the 19-year-old has an excellent ceiling and could prove to be a bargain in the future. In fact, he is tipped to follow in the footsteps of former Chelsea star Michael Essien and develop into a world-class player.
Despite Liverpool entering the race and also having their scout Mads Jorgensen present in the stadium on Monday, they are far from the biggest threat in our efforts to land Sulemana.
In fact, the team we should be worried about is Ajax Amsterdam, who have been after the player for a while now. The Dutch giants failed with a £10m offer for the player in January.
Despite missing out, it would appear their interest has not waned. Ajax have a fine record in developing young talents and it will be a surprise if they don’t return for Sulemana in the summer.
