Manchester United and Manchester City hold an advantage in Harry Kane pursuit

According to The Independent, Manchester United have an advantage when it comes to their pursuit of Harry Kane.

The Tottenham Hotspur ace is one of the best strikers in world football and could be on the market this summer. Despite his individual brilliance, Spurs have failed to land a single trophy during his time there.

Soon to be 28, Kane is in the prime of his career and would be a ready-made asset who can improve any team. With him failing to commit his future to the North Londoners, it promises to be an interesting summer.

It is no secret that United are in need of a prolific scorer. Anthony Martial has massively underperformed while Edinson Cavani may be on his way out.

Even if the Uruguayan does end up staying, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with a new striker to shore up his attack. In Kane, he will be getting just that.

As expected, a number of top teams are interested in securing the English skipper’s services. However, the player is keen to stay in England, giving United the advantage over the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

A hard fight!

While the same advantage could also be extended to Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s side are keen to target a player under 24. This could give United the best shot at signing him.

The Red Devils may need to fork out around £150m, not to mention the efforts to convince Daniel Levy into selling his most valuable player to a rival.

This could see us come in direct confrontation with PSG. now managed by Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine made Kane a star at Spurs and already has a good relationship with the player.

Whether United can make a move depends on their ability to boost their transfer kitty through player sales. Moreover, PSG are better placed than us to help him win the league and can also afford to compensate him as per his stature.

The Red Devils face a tough fight to land the striker. However, players like him are well worth the effort.
